Letter to my younger self
Dear David,
Stay the course and trust that passion inside of you.
Even when it feels uncomfortable.
When you think the bullies can win.
When you think society wants you to be someone or something else.
When you think the other path is simpler.
Because one day you will understand why you did. And I can assure you, it will be totally worth the effort.
The very thing that sets you apart now will become the foundation of your life’s purpose.

You will travel further than you can imagine, across countries, cultures, and stages that once felt impossibly far away.
The discipline will steady you and your courage will guide you to places farther than your mind dreams.
You will learn through this path that you are not only a dancer.
You are someone who knows how to endure. You will learn that self-identity is an evolution. It deepens. It asks more of you than you ever expected.
Your honesty and authenticity will never be your weakness. It will become your strength.

The courage it takes to be yourself quietly, without apology, will open doors not just for you, but for others who are still searching for their own answers. You will realise that the bullying did not break you and the loneliness did not define you.
It shaped you.
It prepared you.
It taught you how to persevere.
So when it feels hard remember it will be worth it.
Because you are choosing to live honestly, passionately and fully.
And I’m so proud of you.
David
